Our experience offers a unique, charming, authentic, and fun escape, far removed from typical tourist activities. This is micro-tourism at its finest, nestled within a small fjord, guided by a local who grew up immersed in this exceptional tradition. The salmon fishing houses, or Laksegilje, were once a significant part of the identity and a valuable source of income for fortunate local farmers during the summer months.

Join us on this adventure and savor local taste experiences sourced directly from the guide’s family farm. While the specific offerings depend on the freshest seasonal ingredients, we guarantee the exquisite taste of smoked salmon or trout, prepared according to cherished family recipes passed down from grandfather to father, and now to the present generation. On select days, you may even have the opportunity to visit this small, cozy farm and purchase these exceptional products directly from the producers – award-winning quality recognized at the Norwegian Championship.

If arriving by car, we will meet you at a designated meeting point before embarking on this unforgettable journey. We embrace a leisurely pace, allowing you to fully appreciate the time, the breathtaking nature, the tranquility, the keen sense of observation, and the quiet excitement of the experience. The walk from the parking area to the salmon fishing house is approximately 400 meters.

From there, we will descend to the traditional net and boathouse, where you’ll gain an intimate connection with the fjord and its natural beauty as we stroll along a picturesque path – just as the fishermen did. For the adventurous, a refreshing dip in the pristine fjord is also a delightful possibility.

Your guide, raised in this very village, possesses a deep understanding of the unique fishing heritage, a knowledge passed down through generations. This fishing method, though now a part of history, holds immense cultural significance and is a story we are passionate about sharing.

After this enriching excursion, we hope you depart with cherished memories of local flavors, culture, history, food and drink production, a genuine “wow effect,” a sense of joy, and a feeling of well-being that comes from embracing the “slow life” and appreciating the present moment.

This is an experience you will never forget!
